About
Science Background:
I recently graduated from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Health Science (Hon) in Medical Laboratory Science. At UOIT, I had the opportunity to conduct my research on Gram-negative antibiotic resistant bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baummanii in Dr. Ayush Kumar’s research laboratory in which I won 1st prize at UOIT’s 6th Annual Research Showcase in the Health Sciences. As part of my final year, I completed my clinical training in Microbiology, Hematology, Biochemistry, Histology and Transfusion science at the world-renowned Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Media Background:
My photography work has won awards including “Best of Show in Intermediate Division” at the Markham Fair in 2006 and numerous other awards. Some of my photographs have even been published on major publications such as CBC.ca and Pitchfork.com.
Until 2009, along side with my co-host and partner in crime Andrew Tomayer, we hosted our own weekly 2-hour extravaganza of a campus radio show called “Detuned Radio” since 2006. Our program entertained and served students of three institutions, UOIT, Durham College and Trent University.
My latest major project is the recent launch of an entertainment magazine called Live in Limbo.
I hope you keep visiting my mish-mash of a blog as my journey in life continues and that you enjoy the diverse work that I create.
Cheers!
Sean
